The Asatru Folk Assembly is a neo-Nazi hate group. Specifically, the Southern Poverty Law Center classifies the Asatru Folk Assembly as the largest neo-Völkisch hate group in the United States.
The name of Adolf Hitler's political organization was called Völkischer.
The New York Times refers to Hitler's political organization in this story in 1924. Just like today, the New York Times gets it all wrong.
