This, is a Radio Resistance News Break - April 14, 2024.
A Richmond, Virginia US federal judge denied Patriot Front's motion to dismiss a civil case brought by two residents of a predominantly black Richmond neighborhood. Since October 2022, the fascist hate group Patriot Front has been trying to get this case dismissed. On March 31st, Patriot Front lost that argument.
The case centers around an October 2021 vandalism incident in Richmond, Virginia. Patriot Front destroyed the Arhur Ashe mural located in a predominantly black neighborhood. The plaintiff's allege that this vandalism, coupled with previous Patriot Front vandalism targeting the community, violated their rights. The plaintiff's say via court documents that they were afraid to use the park after the mural was destroyed. They said that they felt unsafe putting Black Lives Matters signs on their lawns.
The Patriot Front lawyers argue that their fascist clients have a right to destroy murals and target black communities with hate speech. In a previous email exchange with Radio Resistance, the lead attorney Bradley P. Marrs of Marrs and Henry of Richmond, compared Patriot Front with Black Lives Matter activists. Destroying a mural of a tennis player - hero to many in the african americans - versus Black Lives Matters activists demanding that police stop executing black people.
On April 12th, the judge granted the Patriot Front request for 10 more days to file a response to the plaintiff's complaint. Patriot Front has until April 25th to respond.
The named defendants in this case includes Patriot Front Leader Thomas Rousseau, Nathan Noyce, Thomas Dail, Paul Gancarz, Daniel Turetchi, William Ring and Aedan Tredinnick.
When asked who is paying Patriot Front legal fees, Marrs became belligerent and did not answer.
